Palace: Take care, but don’t panic

MANILA, Philippines—Because the Philippines’ “index case” on the dreaded Influenza A(H1N1) has been contained, the public should not be alarmed but make sure to practice proper hygiene as a precautionary measure against infection, Press Secretary Cerge Remonde said Friday.

“We should not allow the problem to paralyze us as a nation. We should take all the necessary precautions, but we have to go about our business of making a living, our business of serving our people,” Remonde said in a joint briefing with Health Undersecretary Mario Villaverde in Malacañang.
